Cloud Cookies

We love it when we get unusual requests…things we can really get our teeth into…so to speak!

We were recently asked by Coventry agency, Bridge PR , if we could make cookies in the shape of clouds for one of their clients, Netmetix Ltd. ‘No problem’ we said, and set about finding a cloud shaped cookie cutter. We were pleasantly surprised to find one without too much searching, which we happily ordered.

The cookie cutter arrived two days later, unfortunately it wasn’t as expected as it was way too small!!

It was time for us to get our creative heads, so we simply made our own Cloud Cookie template.

You can see from the photograph how small the cookie cutter was compared to our new and improved template.

Next we made the cookie dough using our all butter, sugar cookie recipe. The good thing about this recipe is that it keeps it shape whilst baking.

Once the dough had been chilled in the fridge we were ready to cut out our cookies. This is where it got a little time consuming as instead of just stamping out the cookies we had to cut around the template with a sharp knife not just once but 40 times!

The cookies only take 10 minutes in the oven and while they were cooling we started to cut out the sugarpaste ready to cover the biscuits in. Again we had to cut out 40 clouds but we were getting quite good at it by now!

Once the cookies were completely cold we added the sugar-paste, keeping it in place with edible glue. And finally we applied some rice paper circles printed with URL www.cloudmetix.net

We’ve used printed rice paper before and have it printed for us by one of our suppliers, which means we can add any edible name, picture, logo or photo to just about anything!

We were really pleased with the finished result, despite a couple of unexpected obstacles, and we hope that the cookies went down well at the seminar.
